Warwickshire Avon - Rascals and Rapparees

An exploratory trotting session, a pint of maggots, some black roach groundbait. The first swim full of minnow sized chub and the aforementioned.

Some predator activity, however no pike on the smelt....

Then the next swim up a roach a chuck, 35-40 of them caught within a short space of time. Again the pike didn't show even after a rove around to fish likely looking holding spots.

An enjoyable morning all the same, plenty of bites, the stretch of river to myself, and peace and solitude before the day would get a whole lot busier !!!
